The Design Committee within MUF&D brings together students from all majors and backgrounds and encourages a creative and collaborative design process. The committee supports designers as they develop and design a 3-7 piece collection to be presented at the MUF&D Fashion Show in the Spring by connecting them with faculty and professors, providing them with materials, giving access to industry equipment, and exposing them to the design process as they walk their final collection down the runway. This is a fantastic experience for students interested in fashion to learn and grow alongside other students who are passionate about designing. Members interested in designing must try-out by designing a garment for Design Director’s review. From there, chosen designers will go through the entire design process including creating mood boards, designing sketches, sewing garments, making alterations, and seeing a piece walk down the runway.
